Disappearing Jocks

A customer wrote to me the other day asking why most of the jockstraps were out of stock. Today another customer tried to buy one that I don’t have available to see and won’t be getting any time soon.

The problem is that I had been purchasing them through an eBay supplier who is no longer in business there. Because I sell so few jockstraps, it’s not cost effective or profitable for me to buy them in case lots. Unfortunately, it’s also proven to be not cost effective or profitable for me to buy them from other sources.

What I’m doing, for now, is removing from the site most of the ones which have been displayed as “out of stock”. In the next week, I’ll take inventory and make sure of what I actually have, then put the rest on clearance. Stay tuned…

KIX Arrives

I’ve had quite a bit of trouble getting KIX back on the site. My main supplier in Europe didn’t have it for a month or so. I tried another supplier there, and it was delayed on backorder. Finally it’s started to arrive — good news for those who have been waiting for it.The bad news is that the leaky bottle problem continues. I’ve determined that this is just the nature of the product. If you like KIX, you really like it. There’s something different about it. I can smell it through the box when the postman delivers it, and I suppose he can, too. This means, though, that some of the liquid is evaporating inside the package. And, sadly, I don’t have a way to control that. What can I do? I could stop selling KIX. Or, I could continue to carry it, but also make sure that the bottles I ship out at least aren’t leaking when I ship, and also make sure that my customers know that leaks are more likely to happen with it. I’m choosing to try the second strategy. That also means that I have to raise price, since I’m ending up with a bunch of bottles that I can’t sell. From one package that I received this week, almost half were starting to leak. I can’t sell them, although maybe I could throw one heck of a party…

Here’s the bottom line: If you buy KIX from GayHankies.com, I won’t ship you a leaky bottle. However, I can’t guarantee that it won’t leak in shipment. If that happens, let me know and I’ll work something out for you. What that is depends on the circumstances and what you want, and I’ll handle it on a case-by-case basis. One thing you can be sure of is that I’m here to keep my customers satisfied.

Please, Wait A Minute Mr. Postman

I’ve heard this week from a couple of customers who have been waiting for packages that had not arrived. One has had a delay of about two weeks, the other was one week. When these questions come in, I always want to hear from you and try to help solve the problem. There’s a couple of things you can do to help me help you.

First, before you write to me, log in to your GayHankies.com account and check your order history. When you pull up your order on the screen, you can find a Postal Service Delivery Confirmation Number. Take that number and check the status on the Postal Service web site at http://www.usps.com.

Sometimes the Postal Service web site will indicate that the package has been delivered, even though you don’t have it. Sometimes they will say that delivery has been attempted. Sometimes they will say that the package could not be delivered and that it is being returned to me.

If the package is not being returned, please take the time to check with your local post office to see if they can locate the shipment. I have found that sometimes they will actually have it, and they can give it to you in person. When you go there, take the delivery confirmation number with you. You can tell them that that package came from this return address:

BANNEL LLC – DEPT GH
11601 SHADOW CREEK PKWY STE 111-105
PEARLAND, TX 77584

If you cannot resolve this with your local Post Office, write to me. Please include your order number when you write, and also let me know what steps, if any, you have taken to try to locate the package. In almost every case, I will be happy to give you a refund or a replacement package; I hope you will understand that I must review this on a individual basis.

Bugged By Bugs: Part 2

This morning I wrote a quick note here about a web site glitch that prevented a customer from getting the Free Shipping he was supposed to get on his order. Ding, dong, the bug is dead, and all is working correctly again. I also fixed the customer’s order immediately and made sure he was charged the correct amount for his purchase.

If you ever have any problems with your order, with the site, with the shipping, with the products, with whatever, please let me know. I’ll do my best to fix it, because keeping my customers happy is what keeps my business going. More than that, if you have feedback — especially compliments! — I’d love to hear from you. Working at home, I have to try a little bit harder to get a sense of connection with my customers because I don’t get to see you in person. Some of you I feel that I know, and we’re friends unmet. That’s a good feeling!

This morning I discovered that the new Free Shipping programming is not working correctly. One customer had tried to use it, and it came through the system with the Priority Mail charges. Damn, damn, damn…

I will be working to correct this ASAP. In the meantime, if you are trying to use this and have this problem, please include a comment in your order or send me an email, and I will correct your charges manually.
