Shipping Times In The Holiday Season
Posted in Behind the Scenes, Customer Service on December 12th, 2007 by Bob(Permalink)
I hope all of you are having a great December, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice, Eid, Kwanzaa, or any combination of the above. This season of holidays is an incredible time, and a busy one. If you have shopping to do, with GayHankies or elsewhere, I urge you to plan ahead and get it done early.
A few days ago I heard from a customer who was disappointed that his Priority Mail package had not arrived in two days. In my reply, I explained that although the Postal Service does not guarantee delivery times for Priority Mail, they average two to three days. With the extremely heavy mail volume this time of year, shipping times inevitably take longer.
It’s worth noting that our “Super Saver” shipping option is usually First Class Mail or Parcel Post depending on the package weight. These classes of mail generally take longer for delivery than Priority Mail, and this time of year it makes an even bigger difference.
So what’s the bottom line? If you’re ordering from GayHankies and want to receive your package by Christmas, it makes sense to place your order no later than Monday, December 17. I can’t promise you it will get there “in time” or on any certain date, so order early if you want to be sure to have what you want, when you want it.
And to all my customers, thanks for your support this year. Enjoy your holidays, whatever they are and wherever you’ll be. Don’t stress, don’t rush, take some time to be in the moment. Share some time with the ones you love, and with the ones you’d like to love.
